Each year, AAJA offers scholarships to outstanding high
school seniors and undergraduate and graduate students. Since
its inception, AAJA has awarded more than $1 Million in scholarships
and internships to more than 500 students pursuing a career
in journalism.
Applicants must be a graduating high school senior, undergraduate,
or graduate student enrolled enrolled full-time for the fall
and spring academic terms. Applicants must be currently taking
or planning to take journalism courses and/or pursuing journalism
as a career.
Candidates will be selected on the basis of academic achievement,
demonstrated journalistic ability, financial need, commitment
to the field of journalism and sensitivity to Asian American
and Pacific Islander issues as demonstrated by community involvement.
Individual scholarships may weigh criteria differently and/or
take into account other factors.

Annually, NABJ awards deserving students interested in
pursuing a career in journalism. Scholarships are open to
any foreign or American born students currently attending
an accredited four-year college/university in the U.S. or
those who are candidates for graduate school.
