The Kennedy Greenhouse Studio
Rental Information
The Kennedy Greenhouse Studio is located just off the University of South Carolina’s historic Horseshoe and only two blocks from the State House. It is a turn-key production studio capable of sending live video feed via the LTN network by fiber through ETV (rates vary based on air time and connection requested). The equipment housed in the Kennedy Greenhouse studio floor area are as follows: two Sony HXC-D70H cameras and one Panasonic AW-HE120 PTZ camera. All cameras have prompter display hoods, studio controls, polarizing filters and are on dolly tripods. The control room is equipped with: Ross Carbonite Black Solo video switcher, QSC touch mix – 16 audio console, four wireless Clearcom units, four Sure ULX wireless lapel microphones, one Mac computer for graphics, one Mac computer for prompter (FlipQ software) and two AJA KI Pro HHD recorders.
The Kennedy Greenhouse Studio hours of operation are Monday- Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. After-hour times are available upon request. All events must be scheduled in advance so that we can ensure studio availably. Live feed requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to the live hit to allow staff time to test all live feed functions with the site taking our feed and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the test.
The Kennedy Greenhouse Studio is an educational studio and is here to serve the students of the School of Journalism and Mass Communications and the university student body. All student shows and class activities hold precedence over all non-SJMC events. We reserve the right to deny any request that may interfere with any of those activities.
The Kennedy Greenhouse Studio rental rates are as follows:
Non-UofSC rates• Whole Day Studio and Equipment Rental (10 hours) $1500.00 (Non-UofSC rate)
• Hourly Studio and Equipment Rental (2-hour minimum) $200.00/hr (Non-UofSC rate)
• Whole Day Studio Rental (Client provides equipment, 10 Hours) $500.00 (Non-UofSC rate)
• Hourly Studio Rental (Client provides equipment, 2-Hour minimum) $65.00/hr (Non-UofSC rate)
UofSC Rates
• Whole Day Studio and Equipment Rental (10 hours) $850.00
• Hourly Studio and Equipment Rental (2-hour minimum) $110.00
• Whole Day Studio Rental (Client provides equipment, 10 Hours) $250.00
• Hourly Studio Rental (Client provides equipment, 2-Hour minimum) $35.00/hr
Other Fees
• Greenhouse Studio Technician rate (2-hour minimum) $60.00/hr
• Greenhouse Studio Technician after hours rate (2-hour minimum) $75.00/hr
• Facility set up/ Clean up Fee $150.00.
