Anne Creed brings a strong business perspective to advertising and public relations, yet she’s spent most of her career as a creative. She holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and an M.F.A. in creative writing from Vermont College. She held positions as senior copywriter, copy chief and director of public relations at Chernoff/Silver and Associates, where she was also an account executive for the agency’s largest account, Dayton Power & Light. She has won honors for her work, including a Gold Effie, Silver Anvil, Mercury and many Addy awards.
She has extensive experience in advertising and public relations work in health care, public issues, technology, banking, finance, utilities, transportation, construction, economic development, industrial products, insurance, real estate, business-to-business services, the arts and faith.
Creed was one of the first five women admitted to the Columbia Rotary Club, received a Chamber of Commerce Small Business Achiever Award and was a recipient of the YWCA’s TWIN Diamond award.
She’s also had success in creative writing. The South Carolina Arts Commission awarded her their prestigious fiction writing fellowship, and she’s a four-time winner of the South Carolina Fiction Project. She’s a board member of the S.C. Academy of Authors and has seen her work published in literary journals and included in the anthology, Inheritance: Best of the S.C. Fiction Project. Her plays have won contests and been produced in both Carolinas and off-off Broadway.
